Assignment 1

The main learning goals of this assignment are getting used to the NetLogo environment, constructing simple agent-based models, and running simulations with it. Note that this assignment should be made individually.

1.1 Experimenting with NetLogo

Install NetLogo and explore the software environment by making tutorial 1-3 from https://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/docs/. Tutorial #1 and #2 present some basic concepts and example models from the available library. In tutorial #3, you will construct your first agent system.

What to hand in?

Tutorial #1 and #2 are just meant as background information. For tutorial #3, you have to develop three separate NetLogo models, which correspond to the following parts of the tutorial:

– Tutorial #3: from Agents and procedures to Making the go button
– Tutorial #3: from Experimenting with commands to Switches and labels
– Tutorial #3: from More Procedures to Some more details

Please include the three NetLogo models within one .zip-file, and submit this file (individually) via Blackboard. You will not receive a specific grade for this assignment, only a ‘pass’ or ‘fail’.
